With many years experience as a private one-on-one piano teacher, it may seem a little strange that I am going to make a recommendation for online music lessons, however there is some method in my madness! Let me explain.
Life Really Is Being Lived Online
Once upon a time, working out how to use vidcams, online typing and video conferencing were things left to the experts. Now, most fiveĀ year olds are more than capable of the task. Since we are all becoming so efficient online, it opens up a new door for skill lessons, such as learning a musical instrument.
It Cuts Down On Time
One of the things that puts many people off music lessons is the time involved. It’s not just the time of the lesson that they need to plan for, but also the travel time. Traveling to the lesson, having the lesson, traveling home; unless you have a private music teacher who lives next door to you, you have no choice but to dedicate a significant amount of time each week to a lesson in person.
Self-Learning Is Very Internet Friendly
Not all lessons that are offered within the online musical world are live lessons. Nowadays teachers provide online lessons that can be viewed by the student at a time that suits them, meaning a student can take control of their musical journey and learning.
At the end of the day, there is always significant benefit in having a one-on-one music teacher who provides physical lessons. However, such lessons are not always easy to stick to in our busy world. That’s why online lessons are becoming much more common. Whichever way you decide to embark on your musical, the most important thing is to enjoy every step of the way!
